How To Remove Cat Urine From Wood Floors

waysandhow.com &&& How to remove cat urine from wood floors is a problem most cat owners worry about. Cats love to mark their territory with urine as well as to pee about as they please. Also, compared to dogs, a cat’s diet leads to smellier urine that is more likely to result in stains. As a result, cat owners with wood floors worry about how to prevent their floors from staining and prevent the stink given the pungent smell of cat urine.

How much does it cost to restore a historic Victorian home?

I am considering buying a home built in the 1880’s. from the outside I don’t know what it needs but from the outside I can tell it needs AT LEAST the following done.

The wraparound deck needs rebuilt (so its level)
The wood floor in the living room has a wave–needs replaced?
The garage needs to be level (needs a foundation)
Fully re painted (1900 square foot home)
          re insulated
          Some re-doing of the walls
There is a out building in the garden that needs a new roof and updated
Minor landscaping to include new shrubbery around the property, and some serious weeding!.

Also one day id like to put up more walls and doors because it is only a 3 bedroom for how big it is.

The things I cant tell is if any water/electric needs updated.

Have I found a gem or is it an endless pit of money loss?? If I bought it with cash I can afford up to 70k in restoration/improvements and I have family in the business and could probably get a 10% discount. I am sure the deck alone would be around 10-15.
          Thanks!
Also I am not looking to re-sell it I am wanting to raise my family in it and keep it in the family :)

            Wood Floor "Cupping"?

My new wood floor is "cupping" according to a handyman who observed it at my home. The floor isn’t even a year old yet. I had an addition put on and the builder either installed it wrong or maybe something is wrong with the wood floor. It is oak flooring planks 3 3/4. It wasn’t cheap flooring and purchased through a reputable carpet flooring store.

What do I do? Will it uncup as the weather gets cold and the air dry’s out from heating, should I have the builder replace it? What a mess! Did the installer just fit the boards too tight. If I don’t do anything will it damage faster with the slightly raised edges?

I haven’t talked to the builder yet.

            Thanks for your help!
It was done on a sub wood floor…not a slab. It was alos done in the winter so I think that maybe the flooring hadn’t warmed up enough and the temp in that room was in the 60’s. It is also cupping up down the long side length of the boards. Not on the ends. It is not hugely dramatic but still has a ripple look to it.

As I was removing the old wood plank floors in my house that was built in 1946, I found some electrical conduit lines sandwiched between the wood planks and subfloor. Can I install a new wood floor over these electrical lines?

Can I install wood floor over my carpet?

I would like to put a small dance studio/exercise studio in a portion of my basement.
Without tearing up all the carpet in my basement, is there a way I can install a wood floor for just that area, possibly over the carpet? I am leaning towards using allure ultra clear cherry flooring.
                    thanks for the help!
