Carpet Removal & Wood Floor Refinishing adds value to your home

Call 781-325-8070 or visit MarksMasterService.com. Avoid getting wall-to-wall carpeting. Regrettably, cleaning isn’t enough to get rid of dust mites and mite waste. As much as ninety five percent of dust mites may remain after cleaning, simply because they live inside within all the stuffing of sofas, chairs, beds, pillows and carpeting. These small bugs are among the worst opponents of individuals with allergic reactions. They cannot be viewed using the human eye alone, they live inside carpeting, cushions and bedding. There they excrete waste material that create allergic signs and symptoms. Hardwood flooring are a perfect kind of floor for persons with allergic reactions and bronchial asthma. Consider getting rid of the old wall-to-wall carpeting and refinish your underlying hardwood flooring. Washable throw area rugs over smooth hardwood flooring is a lot more sanitary then wall-to-wall carpeting. Still, finishing items may cause a brief a reaction to the harmful chemicals used along the way. Speak with Mark Changelian, who owns Mark’s Master Service, about the kind of finish that are offered. what is the fair labor only price for remodeling a home?
I have gotten quotes (for labor only) all over the place, ranging from 10-35K to do what I wanted. I don’t know what the fair price would be. Any suggestion?
Doing it myself is not an option because I can’t even handle a hammer properly (found out the hard way after I did the demolition of the basement bathroom)
I am remodeling a home and wanted to do the below list. The house is approximately 1950 sq. ft.
1) remove ~1300 sq. ft of popcorn ceiling and replace with texture ceiling
2) remove carpet and install tile ~850 sq.ft.
3) remove carpet and install pre-finished hardwood floor ~600 sq.ft
4) remove carpet on stair and stair rail and replace with hardwood plank stair tread and modern rail (20 steps and 4 3×3 landing areas)
5) remove old tile in 2 bathrooms and replace with new tile and and tile bathroom floors.
6) Install a standing shower in basement (bathroom already there, I ripped it out to stud) and tile the floor and fixing ceiling.
7) replacing (the whole house) old & tired looking baseboard and doors, windows trim with new baseboard and trim
sanded the current door jam and painted same color with new trim
9) paint the whole house with 4 different colors

Underlayment under hardwood floor on stair landing?
I have taken the carpet off my stairs and am going to install unfinished 2.25" hardwood planks on a 42×77" landing with a stair nose. What type or do I even need to place underlayment under the hardwood on the landing? I plan on face nailing the stair nose and 1st row of hardwood and will rent a hardwood nailer to do the rest of the planks.
The landing separates 2 staircases, so no risk of moisture. Also, the subfloor is Advantex plywood. For such a small area the felt seems like overkill.

Can you Install planks over carpet?
I’ve got some leftover planks (locking floating floor) from my kitchen. Enough to do my boys room, don’t want to pull up the carpet, it’s real low profile, no shag I guess you’d say. anyways, if I can install over the carpet then I can avoid doing an underlayment & save myself a lot of work.

Can I install wood floor over my carpet?
I would like to put a small dance studio/exercise studio in a portion of my basement.
Without tearing up all the carpet in my basement, is there a way I can install a wood floor for just that area, possibly over the carpet? I am leaning towards using allure ultra clear cherry flooring.
thanks for the help!

dog hates prescription diet?
my dog was peeing on the carpet at night .. very out of character.. so i took him to the vet and was diagnosed with a mild infection as well as having ‘crystals’ in his pee..
he put him on a diet of just hill’s s/d canned food but my dog absolutely won’t eat it.. he won’t even look at it..
he put it in his mouth a couple of times and even chewed it but ended up leaving it on the floor..
he’s obviously hungry as he’s been barking at his kibble tin and looking generally distressed
should i wait this out? will he eventually get too hungry and cave? how long can he go without eating?
vet said not to give him anything else and not to wean him onto the canned stuff because he needs it to disolve the crystals..
for the record i’ve been regularly replacing the old food with fresh food and tried drizzling some olive oil onto the food but he just licks it off !
is chicken tenderizer another name for MSG?? no thanks :\
